DanceSport SA is the peak governing body for all DanceSport activities in SA metropolitan and regional.

DanceSport SA is funded by the national Body and also by the Department of Rec and Sport SA.

DanceSport Australia was recognised as the governing body of Competitive Ballroom Dancing in 1998. State branches were then formed to govern the sport in each state of Australia.

Recognised by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) DanceSport has actively pursued the mission of developing DanceSport into a popular pastime and a strong competitive sport with pathways to Olympic Level.

DanceSport is recognised by the Australian Olympic Council of which DanceSport Australia is a member body. DanceSport Australia is also a member of Sport Industry Australia.
